Course Description:
 

This course is intended as a transition to research-based learning for computer science graduate students. It is designed to assist students in developing skills necessary to design and execute a research protocol. The course is intended to complement the specific research programs devised by the student and their supervisors. The course covers many topics topics possibly including: the nature of scientific inquiry; information gathering skills; formulation and testing of hypotheses; experimental design; planning; analysis of data; ethical research and professional responsibility in research.
